Wrap it in your world...

Award winning photography team

Fotorap (originally NZ Wrapt) was started in New Zealand in 1993 after it was discovered that there were no New Zealand-themed wrapping paper designs sold in NZ shops.

Since then, Fotorap has produced enough wrapping paper to reach half-way to the Space Station - a stretch of more than 250km.

Fotorap’s papers are continuously topping the sales sheets of one of the country's largest gift wrap and card distributors, Image Gallery.

Now 5000 sheets are produced monthly, stocked on the shelves of stationery stores, tourism shops, information centres, florists and Post Shops nationally.

The range has grown to 18 designs including lambs, pukeko, maori feather cloak, greenstone and kiwifruit. Recently Fotorap's Paua Shell and Koru wraps have been top sellers for Image Gallery, who are the third-largest distributors in New Zealand.

Festive wraps with pohutukawa and Christmas decorations cater for the overseas friends and family. Paua remains the biggest seller, with one customer in Canterbury buying enough to wallpaper her bathroom.

Selling the idea of national-icon-branded gift wrap to other countries is one of our plans for the future. The present range is stocked in one store in London and a US distributor is in the pipeline.

One of the biggest thrills along the way was seeing former US President Bill Clinton receive a gift from the New Zealand Government on television, wrapped in paua shell wrapping paper.
